2025 State Leadership Conference
Rehoboth Beach, DE – On March 4-5, aspiring educators from across Delaware gathered at the annual Educators Rising State Leadership Conference, a premier event dedicated to cultivating the next generation of teachers. Held in Rehoboth Beach, DE, this year’s conference was co-sponsored by the Delaware Teacher Academy Foundation, Wilmington University, and the Delaware State Education Association (DSEA).
With a packed agenda designed to inspire and equip future educators, the conference featured a College & Career Fair, three dynamic panel discussions, and impactful keynote addresses from three distinguished Delaware education professionals: Melissa Wilson (Delaware ESP of the Year), Mindy Adams (Delaware School Counselor of the Year), and Shelby Borst (Delaware Teacher of the Year).
Students participated in skill attainment events designed to refine their teaching abilities, strengthen their leadership skills, and prepare them for the classroom. The conference culminated in an awards ceremony celebrating 195 outstanding winners, with 115 students qualifying for national competitions—a testament to Delaware’s commitment to fostering excellence in education.
Delaware Educators Rising, a Career & Technical Student Organization that encourages high school students to explore careers in education, continues to grow in impact and reach. Through engaging professional development, hands-on learning opportunities, and networking with experienced educators, the conference empowered students to take meaningful steps toward their future in education.
“We are incredibly proud of these students for their hard work and dedication to the education profession,” said Dr. Michael Hill-Shaner, state advisor, “Their passion and enthusiasm are the foundation of Delaware’s educational future.”
